Rowing lesson in Venice
This two-hour cichetto rowing experience on an 8-meter batelo—shorter and more agile than the traditional 12-meter gondola—was the highlight of my three-day getaway in Venice.
Our voga instructor, Anna, a true Venetian, was both incredible and inspiring. Her effortless mastery of the boat made it look easy—though we quickly learned it was anything but.
A truly unforgettable experience for anyone eager to try their hand at this graceful art and the opportunity to support a great cause.
Row Venice are a non-profit organisation of almost all women instructors offering Venetian rowing lessons to tourists, with proceeds going to support rowing athletes, youth, and organisations that sustain the voga rowing tradition in the city and the lagoon.
800m short course
After a turbulent month recovering from a minor operation that left me battling severe spasms, April 12 marked another milestone in my masters swimming journey — my first 800m short course race. I dove in with uncertainty, but exceeded my expectations as I beat my entry time for a satisfying result.
Box Hill Hike
Kilimanjaro expedition training continues with a return to Box Hill and the classic Box Hill Hike, one of my favourite routes. With its steady mix of ascents and descents, it’s a perfect test for both legs and lungs.
